Capacity building is a process of empowerment to enable the people to manage the activities by themselves, during and after our intervention. As a facilitator KGNT views its intervention as tool for capacity building and focuses on organization building and Human resource development.
The KGNT started integrated community development programmes, since inception 2001 of health education, environment protection programme, and Income generation activities under Komna block in the district Nuapada.
Thrift & credit programme is the empowerment process, which has economic system have been controlled by the community people. Actively works with community organization and groups to help them access government resources and scheme.
Established Non Formal Education Centre 26 nos. in the communities by enrolling 412 adult illiterate women of SHGs members and illiterate adolescent girls. Centres are opened at common place in the community and operated at convenient hours for the learners.
Started work TSC programme in two G.Ps in our operational areas with the support of District Water & Sanitation Mission, Nuapada. 509 nos. of low cost sanitary latrine have been constructed for the BPL household under this programme.
With the KGNT assistance 7 nos. of Residential care centre in different villages under Komna & Khariar Block with support of OPEPA, Bhubaneswer under the programme of EGS /AIE, and DPEP Nuapada for deprive Children. Children of migrated parents located at Andrapradesh, Madhyapradesh, and Uttar Pradesh in bricks kiln factory more then 6 to 7 month. They migrated to their working place in November onward and return in June.
KGNT also took up the project Disaster Risk Management programme with the support of UNDP Nuapada since 2006 February in Thikpali G.P under Komna Block in Nuapada district.
Women Empowerment Project has been taken up through strengthening and establishing thrift & credit groups. This is the empowerment process which has economic system have been controlled by the community people. Actively works with community organization and groups to help them access government resources and scheme.
To facilitate this KGNT under took advocacy independently and together with the group among local administrative network and support to initiate saving, credit and micro finance operation and linked to bank and another government resource agency who provide them working capital at affordable cost.
Providing training programs to SHG members to develop skill to improve income opportunity through the locally available resources and traditional occupation such as trained on animal rearing, fish culture, candle making, Bee keeping, spice making, weaving, Tailoring with the support of Govt. resource agency.
In health sector KGNT encourages to community people avail existing govt. health care facilities. In region for treatment of measure ailment. KGNT supports & supplements curative measure, where no other facilities exist. Also trains local health volunteers and upgrades the skill to Traditional Birth Attendance. So that they can meet local primary health care needs.

KGNT is working in diverse areas with varied intervention, aimed to reducing the vulnerabilities of the people living potential disaster zones. Emphasis is given to development of women and vulnerable groups of the society, with focus on socially weaker section.
KGNT is providing free computer education through its separate wing called KGNT CompuTech, which started in the year 2009. It functions towards creating a support system for talented children from the rural territory to the field of technology. It also supports them to make informed choices while pursuing higher education and in choosing a career. It is serving the rural community through quality education and encourages diversity to enhance quality of life in an educative manner. KGNT is also a space for advocating intervention at policy levels, towards creating equal opportunities in IT sector, by making our educational system more inclusive.
